About the Artist

My name is Ella Marie Trey! I just moved to Portland from dang ‘ol Houston, Texas. I’m happy to report that, for the most part, I’ve been able to give up sweating. In Houston I participated in art shows, painted murals and did a lot of illustrations for local punk rock bands. For the last year I’ve been really drawn to the metal arts. I like creating meaningful, wearable art that will stand the test of time. I find metals and their correspondences to be intriguing as hell. I’m also really interested in developing my skills so that I can create kinetic metal sculptures. I have a great passion for creating. I’ve learned so much since arriving at Smith PDX. I’m excited to see where this incredible opportunity will take me.

P.S.- I also really like puppy dogs, long walks on the beach, smashin’ the patriarchy and some
reefer.
